Your affiliate business is just that–a business. It is NOT a "get-rich-quick" scheme, nor is it guaranteed to make you money overnight, or even in your first several months. In fact, it is not guaranteed that you will make money AT ALL.

In my view, this fact weighs on many of your minds. Knowing that there is a possibility you won’t make money, even though you are paying money every month, leads to a scattershot approach. You begin with your affiliate business’ training materials, but don’t see any sales or progress. So you move on to do your own thing. Then, an "amazing" new product or program comes out, and you add that to your stable of offerings, thinking that is the answer.

The problem is, now you belong to 5 other programs outside of your original ones, and you are STILL not making money! The solution is to MAINTAIN FOCUS. Pick one advertising method and focus on it. Do that exclusively. Only when you are seeing some success from that should you move on to another method. For example, if you pick PPC advertising, focus only on that. Buy one or two ebooks to help you learn. When you are seeing signups or sales, whatever your goal is, then pick another medium.

For me, I progressed from article writing to lead-buying. I wrote articles that I posted around the internet and at my blogs, and met my goal both of sales and sign-ups. Then, I moved on to lead-buying. I now FOCUS only on article writing and email marketing to my list. To help me with this, I do use one resource. And that’s it!

So start small, STAY FOCUSED, and progress slowly. This is a business, after all, and businesses need to grow. But you’ll see results faster, in my opinion, if you FOCUS.

Build your list FASTER, generate TARGETED traffic, and make MORE money with this resource.

Affiliates spend a lot of time and money creating a special environment and information for their site visitors. But sometimes things go wrong. A visitor was dissatisfied with a product you sold, or it was damaged in shipping. Someone isn’t receiving your mail newsletter. A visitor had a terrible experience with one of your merchant partners. They took your advice and it didn’t work for them.

The way you react to problems and complaints will make a big difference in your visitor’s loyalty to your site. What can you do? Act swiftly. Be sure you have someone monitoring the customer service and info email boxes several times a day even if you’re just beginning and only serving a small number of visitors. Larger companies should continually monitor for problems, and the largest should consider instant messaging for complaints. In almost all cases apologize immediately and take immediate steps to correct the matter. It takes so long to acquire a loyal visitor, and so little time for him to move on if he feels slighted. There are too many perceived alternatives. So replace, repair, rebound or refund fast! Send a follow-up email to see if the situation was resolved to the individual’s satisfaction. Depending upon the nature of your site, you may also include a freebie or a discount on a future product.

Superior handling of problem can even work to your advantage. Your site visitor may feel he’s learned more about you, and likes what he sees. You’re one step further in solidifying your relationship.

Let’s pretend for a moment. Let’s pretend you have this new person you just met named Joe. Joe is a well-off guy with a good income. He has a sports car, a nice house, a 52" widescreen TV and his own mini movie theater. It’s obvious this guy makes some money.

Does Joe have a high-paying job at a huge company? Microsoft? Best Buy?

Nope. You see, he never drives to work.

That’s right, Joe works from home. He works online selling other company’s products and services; in other words, he’s an affiliate. To be more specific, a super affiliate. He obviously doesn’t settle for just a couple hundred dollars a month like some affiliates. He makes thousands of dollars a month.

Obviously, I made up Joe. But don’t let that throw you off. There are a lot of people - super affiliates – that are making a ton of money with affiliate marketing

Are you trying to be a super affiliate? Have you looked for the "secret" affiliate tool that will let you unlock loads of hidden cash? Let me reveal it to you.

Opt-in lists.

The real super affiliates use opt-in lists. That’s not all they use, but it’s a big part of their success. Granted, it’s hard work to build up your list to a point where you are making money with it. But in the end, it’s worth it.

Let John Reese tell you how powerful email marketing is:

"Done properly, email marketing works. For example, I recently did a quick little mailing to an opt-in list and generated $52,786 in sales in just 48 hours."

Now, internet marketing expert John Reese doesn’t just do affiliate marketing, but the concept is the same. Build up your list, give content good content, and your subscribers WILL buy from you.

The opt-in list is one of the super affiliate’s biggest weapons. Go start building yours now.

Experienced affiliates know that focusing their campaign properly can make the difference between earning a little and a lot of money. And it’s impossible to focus a campaign properly without detailed information. This kind of information comes from a program called an ad tracker. You can buy and install a program to track ads or use a service to gather the results for you.

An ad tracker is software that gives you the ability to catalog all the clicks made on your site that resulted in a link to a merchant site. These can be pay-for-performance affiliate programs, pay-per-click, or even programs that rely on pop-ups or pop-unders. You can even track links to merchants that you have placed in emails, ezines and online newsletters. By using ad tracking, you will be able to tell exactly where you placed the link that resulted in a click-through to a merchant – on your site or off.

The software will help you in deciding which vendors are more productive than others, and give you the ability to make changes on a regular basis. You can tell which pages of your site work better than others, and you can even experiment with locating banner or other ads on different portions of a page. Since advertising began, in the offline world, advertisers have wanted better ways of determining what is working and what isn’t. Huge sums of money have been spent and opportunities lost because nobody knew what was working and what wasn’t. Now, as an affiliate you have the ability to proactively tweak and manage and get the most profit from your site – use it often and well.

Rereading my previous article "Affiliate Money – How to make them coming to you" in which I discuss some of the rudimental options on creating a valid home based business using nothing but Affiliate Programs, I have asked myself a question. A question so simple and yet so important that I knew – answer this one right and I’m set for life! A question, which everyone who is looking for proven income opportunities in Affiliate Programs should ask himself.

I have pounded out some thoughts and some basics that I know will work well as they work for me day after day. Just please remember these are only basics as I’m not a self-proclaimed “guru” but a simple man who managed to learn and implement the techniques discussed bellow.

Making an initial sale is great and exciting and a feeling familiar to anyone involved into Affiliate Programs marketing. But as every successful affiliate knows – it’s a lot easier to sell to a person who already bought from you or based on your advice and marketing efforts necessary for that sale are a lot less. So how do you repeat a sale?

Give away free stuff. Be it an ebook or a report but give it away for free. The key here is to find a material that allows you to rebrand links inside that ebook or report with your own affiliate links. Many programs provide you with such materials and they do the wanders. Even if person didn’t buy from you this time, they WILL download a free ebook and if it answers their questions or provide them with information they were looking for, they will click on YOUR affiliate link. Caching! Do you hear cash register ringing? I do.

Give away more free stuff! But now use a slightly different technique – auto responders. It’s an income maker on autopilot! And all you have to do is give something away and setup auto responder messages. Find an ebook with resale rights that give you an option to give away to members or through subscriptions. A good place to look for these type of materials are a manual click traffic exchanges, such as TrafficSwarm, as people give away a lots of free stuff there for simple newsletter signup. Just get one of the free auto responders. Much better option is to use auto responder that comes with your hosting account. That way you will not have to deal with third party advertisement. Make sure that your emails are precise to the point and something that interest your readers. Never used auto responder or don’t know how to write a winning email? It’s not a problem. There is a wealth of ebooks written on the subject and better once have the sample e-mail where all you have to do is customize them to fit your needs

Using auto responders is a bliss when done right. I do recommend couple things if you decide to utilize them:

Always use a subscription model where users have to confirm their intention to subscribe. Don’t try to force people into your subscription! This will eliminate possibility of invalid e-mail addresses and prevent you from been reported as a spammer – a sure kill to your business. Double-check your e-mails for possibility of been filtered as spam, explain people to setup white listing options for your e-mails. Use a freely available Internet tools to check your e-mails for spam filtering, before you send them. After all it’s your money making tool, so make an extra effort.

The techniques above are extremely simple and yet overlooked by great many people or not utilized to the full extent. Hard to imagine any good reasons why. Successfully implementing them will not just assist you but put your efforts into overdrive.

And really it’s that important. Residual income and new income from previously sold customers is the ultimate goal of any affiliate marketer and if it’s not your goal yet – make it!

This article will focus on the running of an affiliate program instead of the initial software needed and the affiliate directories you should submit your program to. This article is for people that are past this stage. If you need that info, visit my site.

These are the basic steps any webmaster should take once their program is set up. If all you do is install some good affiliate software and submit your program to a few good affiliate directories you will begin to make sales with just about no other effort. That’s pretty powerful and it’s also a testament to the power of affiliate programs. However, if you want to make a lot of sales and serious profits, keep reading.

As with all marketing programs, you will need to put the time and energy in to building your affiliate program. But, as you’ll find out, just about no other online marketing campaign can achieve the same substantial return for your time or money.

One of the great advantages to running an affiliate program is that, although it does take an effort, it takes very little money to successfully promote your affiliate program once it’s set up. With some effort, it has the potential to be very profitable. By the very nature of the program, you do not pay for sales until they are made and then you do not pay the commissions until the cash for the sale is in your bank account. For this reason, it is the best way for new sites to begin competing.

The most basic activity in running an affiliate program is looking for new affiliates and continually growing the rank and file of affiliates. This is easy and can be done in an hour or two a day achieving good results. You simply search the web for sites that you think have relevant content to your site and are sites that your potential customers are likely to visit. Once you find a site, you should decide how much effort the site is worth. If it is a decent site, but not incredible, you can send them an email about how they can make money by displaying your banners and text ads. In your email, include a link to your affiliate program’s sign up page. This way they can go and sign up without any further effort on your part. It’s quick and easy so you can hit a lot of sites and send a lot of email.

When you find a dynamite site that is worth more of an effort than normal, then skip the initial email and try this… send the site owner a letter, follow that letter up with an email and if they do not sign up from those two communications then give them a phone call. You may find that it might take creating some custom advertisements, possibly a reciprocal link or simply personal attention to get them to sign up to your affiliate program and begin promoting your site. Great sites consistently get quite a few affiliate requests. So, to get them to pay attention to yours, and to get them to put the needed effort in, you might have to differentiate yourself. The letter and phone call will do this while telling them that you care and you are serious.

Without fail, if you put an hour or two a day in to recruiting affiliates you will see some results each and every month. The key is be consistent and not to get discouraged. You will probably only sign up one affiliate for every ten to twenty sites you visit and emails you send out. This may not seem worthwhile but as the affiliates you do sign up begin making sales you will realize that this efforts builds month by month. The effort may not seem worth it in the first month. You may only get a few sales. In the second month, again, you may only get a few sales but this month you will be adding a few sales generated from last month’s affiliates to this months sales. By the third month you have some new sales from new affiliates and two months of past affiliates generating sales this month. You can see that this pattern will continue month by month. Within six months you will not only have a nice base of affiliates making sales each and every month you will also have learned a lot about recruiting affiliates and you will keep getting better and better and keep closing more and more new affiliates each month.

Once you have a base of affiliates, you should begin a weekly affiliate newsletter and blog. Both of these can have the same text about a new sales theme and/or new materials each week. Tell your affiliates how to sell your product and what they should promote. This will not only give them new materials but it also keeps your site on their mind.

The newsletter will go out to the email address that they used during sign up. This will usually be one they check consistently so they will see your name weekly even if they do not act on the offers you send. The blog is important because it allows affiliates to comment. You can choose whether to makes the comments public or not. Even if you keep them private, they will give you a lot of insight in to what your affiliates think.

So, for the basics, that’s it. Keep a daily recruiting routine, begin a weekly newsletter and set up a blog. Nothing too difficult here. It only takes a few hours a day and it will have a better return than just about any other online marketing plan available to small businesses.

Being in the Holiday Season now, I am short on time and my blog will suffer. But, please keep an eye out for more affiliate building tips. I have had more interest in affiliate marketing lately than just about anything. So, I will try to keep a consistent push on writing for this subject. As I have said many times, affiliate marketing is great for the new and/or cash strapped entrepreneur. I have sold millions through affiliate programs. You can too.

A sales page is only as good as it’s ability to keep a person’s attention. Promoting affiliate products presents some unique obstacles and pitfalls which people fall into every day without realizing it. Sales copy is everywhere and as more people compete to promote a single product, the harder it gets.

It has become well known that writing articles, reviews and personal recommendations are good methods for generating traffic and sales to both your website and affiliate products, but more often than not they all have the same tone with nothing unique or eye-catching. Unfortunately, just saying "this is great" or "this is the best I’ve seen" has become so common that it’s right up there with ‘banner blindness’, which I guess we could call ‘hype blindness’.

People have likely seen ads or articles about the product already from other sources, so may already have an impression about it and just need that extra nudge to buy. Some people don’t buy until they’ve seen it a few times. So, at what point do they suddenly decide to buy? What is the determining factor?

I believe that the key motivation lies within your ability to focus their attention, not just capture it. You can greatly increase the chances of them biting onto your hook instead of the other guy’s - simply by fishing with better bait.

Here are 5 simple strategies you can use to get people interested in reading a sales page, before they even see it:

1. Relate to their doubts, fears, needs or wants

People don’t start out trusting you (unless they know you), so it’s something you must build through every sentence to convince them that you’re on "their side". One way of doing this is by relating to their situation. You are essentially mirroring their own problems in the context of "I" and then showing them that there is a solution. When you mention specific areas of the sales page casually that left a big impression on you, it gets them interested.

Here are some examples:

"I thought it was just another scam at first, but when I read the part about…."

"I was getting desperate to find a way to get traffic to my site, so when I read…."

"I had invested so much into my web business already but when I saw…"

"I thought I knew everything about super widgets until….."

2. Tell people to look for hints and tips on the page

There’s nothing like a little mystery to get people interested. It’s just human nature. Tell them that if they pay close attention, they’ll pick up on some tips.

For example: "If you read carefully, you’ll easily pick out some of the secrets from this ebook…."

3. Tell them what to read!

Instead of just listing benefits, focus on key areas that make the product stand out and address the reader’s interest. You could actually write a number of articles based on a single products different features.

Example: "The part that got my attention was….." and "Read the part about ……. and you’ll see what I mean."

4. Tell people they can get something for free

They don’t know there’s anything free on the page until they either get there or you tell them. This is compelling way to get them to click and start looking for the goods!

Example: "Don’t forget to look for their free widget tips newsletter….." or "When you visit, look for their free magical widgets guide…."

5. Promote time-sensitive offers

This is usually good at the bottom of an article or review as an extra push in the right direction. I wouldn’t make too big a deal out of it though. You don’t want them to feel pushed by you, you want them to push themselves to a conclusion.

Example: "Right now they’re offering the big book of super widget success up until next week, so I grabbed my copy yesterday…."

It all comes down to writing in such a way that it compells them to read the sales page and pay close attention to what it offers. If I can sell them on the sales page, I know I have a better chance of selling the product.

You have probably read lots of advice from various so-called experts warning you against the use of free sites. But while you have been taking in this piece of advice and information, others have been busy making a fortune online, using those very free sites that you have been warned against.

Most of these new Internet entrepreneurs have used blogs or web logs to achieve their enviable accomplishments. Many people have not appreciated just how much blogs have changed the World Wide Web and especially many perceptions that previously carried a lot of weight. For instance we are now seeing popular blogs hosted by free services achieving colossal traffic. In other words the emphasis seems to have shifted rather dramatically to the value of the content rather than that of the “vehicle” that carries it.

Because the content in blogs tends to be updated very regularly, search engines have quickly fallen in love with them. The result is that they’ve been enjoying very high search engine rankings. Then there is the almost natural tendency for blogs to link to one another. The result of this has been that many blogs have almost effortlessly quickly picked up the sort of five figure daily traffic numbers that websites have had to wait for years to achieve. Some blogs have done it in a few short weeks.

Smart online entrepreneurs have established a couple of interesting and tightly focused and targeted blogs, based on both their experiences and valuable, high-paying keywords. The results have been phenomenal with some of them drawing in thousands of dollars monthly in Adsense earnings. For most of them, their earnings from the Adsense click affiliate program have surpassed any other earnings they may have had previously from their online businesses.

Now imagine a situation where some of these new breed of online entrepreneurs have taken the trouble to host their sites at with free hosts who have such a professional approach and look that it is difficult to convince anybody that their sites are hosted free. The result has been the sort of increased Adsense earnings that others find difficult to believe.

It really is worth the effort to look for a good free host to enhance the image of your blog. There is little doubt that this will quite often pay off in a big way in terms of your Adsense click affiliate earnings.

If your inbox is anything like mine, you’ve probably recieved your fair share of Product Resale Rights offers. Often times you’ll be offered anywhere from one to a hundred or more products, ranging in price from $17. to $500. Trying to figure out What You’re Allowed To Do with them can be a confusing process.

If your package comes with Basic Resale Rights, It will give you the right to resell it and that’s usually it. Most of the time it comes with it’s own sales page, which all you need to do is add your payment link and upload it to your web host. It is also the least expensive. Your probability of profit is increased since it virtually cost you nothing to get started. Basic rights range in price from $17. to $97. and are very easy to profit from. However, this option is not generally viral since you don’t have the right to claim it as your own or give it away. It must be sold and can’t be included in another package or sold in Auction Sites. These restrictions are defined in the Read Me File contained in the zip file in your download.

If your package comes with Master resell rights. It will also come with its own sales page. Your options are increased with this package. You will have the right to resell it, bundle it with other products, sell it at auction sites or give it away. It will usually cost more than the Basic Rights since you have the right to do more than the Basic Rights. You will also get everything you need to get your site up and running. On occasion it will come with marketing tools such as banner graphics, solo ads, classified ads, etc.

If your package comes with private label rights. One particular type of private label rights gives you the right to claim it as your own. It is generally ready made and the only changes you can make is to put your name on it.

Another type of private label rights is not a finished ready to sell product. All you get with this one is the raw source code. Usually in an MS Word document. This will require someone a bit more advanced in their ability to design and set up either a web page or insert the information in ebook format. This type basically gives you the right to do just about anything you want with it. You can change it, claim it, add to it or omit parts of it. Selling the Master resale rights an resell rights may also be an option. See what the terms and conditions say.

As with any product or service you decide to sell on the internet. You’re going to need to look at some things.

*Is this product or similar product being searched for?

*If so, How Many?

*If the product is being searched for a kazillion times. Chances are you’ll encounter some pretty stiff competition and is probably not a wise choice.

*Have you seen similar products on the web?

Resell Rights are a great alternative to creating your own products. You’re going to have some basic skills such as, the ability to edit the html in your pages. Use an FTP program to upload the pages to the web. A web host and domain name to upload them to. If you posess these basic skills you’re ready to make money with your newly acquired Resell Rights package.

Devise your marketing plan to include pay per click ads, ezine ads, writing articles, joint ventures, and publishing your own newsletter.

It won’t be long before you’ve got customers coming out of the woodwork. If success is what you’re after, Get to Work. There are no free lunches on or off the web. Despite what your bombarded with. There are no Get Rich without doing any work programs. If you find one, Please send it to me.

You Don’t Even Know!

You probably don’t even know, yet I’m sure you suspect it. If you are tracking your links you are wondering why you get so many hits, but so few sales.

Your Links Are Being Hijacked!

It’s because the thieves are hijacking your referrer ID,and substituting their own. Or better yet they just delete the referrer Id completely and buy directly from the vendor.

They Are Taking Your Commissions!

They are just plain mean, and don’t want you to get a commission. It’s easy to stop with the right tool!

You Have To Hide Your ID.

Stopping the thieves is easy but you have to use a cloaking link. Not just a tracking link. But a "cloaked" link" that will keep the alleged thief from knowing your ID until it’s too late to change it or delete it.

Of course they can always cancel the sale, but at that point most people will complete the purchase. It’s like the old saying. Locks only keep "honest" people, "honest"

Put An End to The Stealing Now! If you do not begin cloaking your affiliate links and referrer ID’s, then you will lose sales.

The good news is, you can stop the stealing. Whether you are new to the Internet, or you’re just starting out. You need to take action before you lose anymore sales!

I have been marketing on the Internet since 2001, and have learned many tricks of the trade. Believe me, I know the thieves are out there.

Sincerely,

Paul Webb
