Affiliate marketing networks are an outstanding way for websites to increase their customer base in a cost efficient manner. By building a network of affiliates, a business can tap into an extremely large number of independent contractors who will actively promote their products and services in exchange for a commission. Affiliate networks have the potential to greatly boost sales for both online and offline businesses.

An excellent example of an affiliate network is Amazon.com, which happens to be one of the most successful online. Amazon has enjoyed a tremendous amount of success, in great part due to their massive number of affiliates. After seeing the success of Amazon.com, many other businesses have utilized affiliate programs to expand their businesses and boost sales with great success.

Affiliate networks have even spread to businesses such as executive recruitment and career searches. The most well-known programs in this industry are Monster.com, Hotjobs.com, and CareerBuilder.com. By allowing affiliates to sign up and promote their websites for a commission, they’ve been able to spread the word of their services virally all over the internet in a very short amount of time.

To see affiliate marketing in action and to see firsthand just how popular it has become, simply look at the next webpage you view. Chances are, you’ll be staring at colorful banners promoting affiliate products for a commission. I would encourage you to get involved in the world of affiliate marketing, it is an outstanding way to earn a living and one that can certainly make all of your financial dreams become a reality. Massive incomes are being earned every single day by super affiliates who have grabbed hold of the affiliate marketing concept and created businesses around it.

There are now plenty of affiliate programs out there on the Internet.

The good news is… This is the quickest and easiest way to make profits for most online businesses. You sell the product or service of another person and then receive a commission.

The bad news is… Only 10% of affiliates really succeed with such programs!

And I have been too much time part of the other 90% …But not anymore!

Some weeks ago, I decided to apply a reverse-engineering to the successful affiliates.

Yes. I was up to analyze their plans, strategies, blueprints… I had to decipher every method which can make difference between a successful business online and a failing one.

By the same time, I had also checked how failing affiliates do operate. And now I am going to reveal my research results right here and now.

Listen up…

The "Successful Affiliate" Profile:

1. Makes a market research.

2. Promotes HOT products.

3. Collects follow-up information.

4. Takes a systematic approach.

The "Failing Affiliate" Profile:

1. Chooses affiliate programs lightly.

2. Promotes any product, any service no matter the market status.

3. Uses wrong marketing methods.

4. Is a "random marketer" and joins and quits programs at the first failure.

With that said… You probably noticed that all those factors you have control over. And this is really good news! Read on…

Back to basics…

If you have not succeeded yet then you are about to learn a way to put your business on the right path. You will soon use the leading methodology of the super affiliates.

On the other hand, if you are already a successful affiliate then you will discover a wonderful market research tool that will do all of the work for you… And put you in automation heaven!

Enough talks…

Let’s apply the right methodology when promoting products and services. And ultimately make real profits!

Here Is The Most Important Step You Ever Make In Your Online Business:

…The Market Research!

This is the most powerful aspect to consider before you join any affiliate program. The aim of market research is to find out exactly what people are looking for.

What are people’s hot buttons?

What do they want?

What is the less competitive industry?

Who is offering quality affiliate programs?

Where is the HOT selling service?

What is the most demanded product?

Answer to these simple questions and you can be sure that you’ve made much more for your business than any other online entrepreneur. Remebmer the old saying: "Fail to plan and you’re planning to fail!"

It is a fact. You need to become an affiliate of a HOT selling product or service. The products you intend to promote must be proven sellers online. Thanks to the Internet, collecting those information won’t cost you ten thousand to a million dollars!

So how can you perform this research?

The short answer is that… you can visit newsgroups and message boards. You can ask questions to the people there. Think of them as potential customers.

You can also hold surveys and collect information on people’s needs and thoughts.

I see many newcomers to affiliate marketing that have great looking web sites but the keys to affiliate marketing for maximum profits are locked away in the drawer.

One of the biggest mistakes you can do as an affiliate marketer is trying to promote to many products right off the start, rushing to make big profits in a short amount of time. Because there are so many affiliate programs that are easy to join it is easy to get trapped in this situation defeating your main purpose of making profits.

The ideal situation is to choose a product or service that appeals to you, then spend the time to research the product thourghly to see what the demand is and if at all possible buy the product first before signing up for the affiliate program to evaluate the product to see that it is everything the author claimes it to be. By evaluting a product yourself you can give your customers the product information they are looking for, how they can benifit from this product and by pointing out the downfalls if any, you will gain there trust and assurance with your honest evalutation for a possible sale.

Selecting one affiliate program that pays the highest return for a sale is better than choosing several with lesser payouts that reflect the same amount of profits. By taking this approach you are getting to know the products or service you promote better and will be able to target them for a more efficient advertising campaign such as testimonials, Email, pay per clicks or getting search engine listings and keyword ranking.

Once you have effectively promoted a product you can sign up for other affiliate programs using the same method to build an empire of affiliate product over time, maximizing your profits as you go and avoiding the costly mistake of making to little affiliate profits with to many affiliate programs.

It’s no secret there is money in affiliate marketing, in fact there is great money in affiliate marketing if you align yourself with a good company with good products.

The reason there are some failures and jaded feelings about affiliate marketing is because people don’t think about what the very phrase means. There are two words to consider. Affiliate is a definition that comes to most people quite easily as it means "A person, organization, or establishment associated with another". Easy enough. The second part of that phrase is the one that will make or break your efforts to be a success in affiliate marketing.

Marketing. People think it means knocking on doors, making hundreds of phone calls, sending out thousands of e-mails, just to market your product or service that you’re selling through an affiliate network. True, you are an affiliate of a company and you are selling the same thing as dozens of other people, how to you set yourself apart from the crowd?

Establish a relationship with your prospects. When you contact someone about the product or service that you’re representing through your affiliate marketing program, your initial contact is not about making a sale or a fulfillment order, it’s about establishing a relationship with your potential client. Setting yourself up to establish a relationship with your prospects takes a little preparation but it’s not hard to do.

If you’re marketing your affiliate program through cold calls, first of all, make sure you’re targeting the right market. You can’t build a relationship to your prospects marketing services if the person you’re contacting has no base interest in your affiliate network service or product. Many affiliate marketers get discouraged because they feel every proverbial door is slammed in their faces. It’s not that they aren’t good sales people or they have chosen the wrong affiliate network to market, they have simply chosen the wrong venue to sell those affiliate marketing services to.

When you’re marketing your affiliate program from your own website. First all, make sure there are no frames. You might as well be wearing Harry Potter’s Cloak of Invisibility if you’re going to frame a webpage. Your site won’t show up in return results because it won’t be indexed by the major search engines.

Next, throw out useless graphics, do you really need that dancing sack of money on your website? Screaming sales fluff words "It’s the BEST" or empty promises to prospects mean nothing and quite frankly, turn most people off from anything of substance you really had to say about your affiliate marketing program. Instead, think about what you would want to know if you were joining an affiliate marketing program. Write your website as if you were speaking to one person only, the person that is reading your website at that moment.

You can build a relationship from the get-go through your website and e-mails by addressing common problems most people have. No one is looking to join an affiliate program because they have too much money. People want to join a legitimate affiliate marketing program because they need money for various reasons. Use that as a beginning for making a starting point in a business relationship.

On your website, tell a little about how the affiliate marketing program took you from a paycheck to paycheck existence and you can now afford certain luxuries that were your motivating factor. You wanted to take a vacation, help put your kids through college, buy a new car, or pay off your credit card bills. Think about the issues that originally made you want to get into affiliate marketing, there are a good majority of people that feel the same way and they all have the potential to be part of your affiliate marketing network.

Invite a dialogue with people. You can’t have a relationship with your prospects without open communication. Tell people they can contact you and ask you questions and when they do, be friendly but remain businessnesslike. It’s a fine line and you’ll find it quickly. One successful affiliate marketer would answer his various prospects questions sent via e-mail and then always throw in something about the weather he was experiencing. Could be the snow on the ground, the drenching rains that would drown a duck or just the heat that made him wish for an ice cream truck from his youth. Just that one sentence made him more real to his potential clients. They would write back wanting more information and then tell him about their weather. It seems small and insignificant, but it’s really huge. He was giving people a real person to deal with. Not an affiliate marketing program, not a faceless website, not the black and white text of an e-mail, but an honest to goodness friendly person they wanted to join up with all because he talked about the weather.

When you’re using relationship based marketing for your affiliate program, you’re not trying to create a best friend - you are creating an honest, trusting business relationship and there’s nothing stronger. Studies have shown people will stick with an affiliate marketing program longer if they have a comfort level with the people they are dealing with. Relationship based marketing does exactly that.

Now that you know how to create a loyalty to your affiliate marketing program, use these tips to make yourself stand out from the other affiliates and boost your network base and your affiliate sales!

and Why You Should Care

Posted on Feb 20th, 2007

Have you ever thought about a specific amount of money you *think* you need, to feel what it’s like to experience success? …

Go back and read that question again.

Most haven’t, but chances are if you have, it’s pretty close to $5,000 a month.

I recently ran a survey to a handful of my best customers, asking them how much money they’d have to make to call themselves successful in their online business…

Out of 113 surveyed, 42 responded with at or around $5,000 a month. 18 of the 42 specifically mentioned passive, or residual income in the amount of $5,000 per month.

Thirty-seven percent of those surveyed wanted $5,000 per month, while fifteen percent wanted it in residual income.

As you continue to read this article, you will learn about a rock solid, tried, tested and approved nine-step strategy for easily acquiring $5,000 per month online using only email…

1. Find an affiliate program that pays instantly, or at least twice a month.

2. Join the affiliate program and calculate your Dollar Value Commission divided by 5,000. This will give you the total number of sales you need to convert from your affiliate link each month. [Example: 5,000 / $33.50 = 150 sales per month]

3. Take your number of sales per month, and divide by four. This gives you the number of sales needed per week. [Example: 150 / 4 = 38 sales per week]

4. Take your sales per week and divide by seven. You now have the number of sales needed per day… [Example: 38 / 7 = 6 sales per day]

5. Now create your Simplified Target Statement:

Example:

"In order to acquire $5,000 per month, I am attracting 6 sales per day, 7 days per week — this or something better!"

6. Print out this statement, take a red pen and circle it. Trace the circle a few times with the pen to "cement" the the idea firmly in your mind.

7. Tape it to your computer desk, or keep it somewhere near you. Preferably, you want to see it during the morning, afternoon and night if possible.

8. Go to MBPAdvertising and run a solo ad inside a publication. Keep a record of what publications pull sales, and keep buying ads in those ezines until your campaign becomes unprofitable.

9. Buy more ads from different sources. MyWizardAds and DirectoryOfEzines can both provide excellent resources for advertising in online publications.

Within one week of each campaign, find out which publications to keep advertising in, and which ones to drop by calculating the revenue minus advertising cost of each referred sale. For example, if Ezine A ran my ad and it received 34 sales generating $1,139 in commissions, and I paid $149 to run the ad, I made $990.00 in pure profit.

Obviously, I made more than I spent to acquire those customers, so my campaign is considered profitable. This is ALL that matters. If you’re making more than you’re spending to get customers, you’re golden!

People often get caught up and frozen in details that really don’t matter anyway.

All that matters is that you make more than you spend to acquire new customers.

Granted, some can afford to lose money on acquiring new customers because they have a well thought out follow up strategy to pick up the profit on the back end.

This may seem basic… and it is. But if you can apply 100% of your focus to a Simplified Target Statement without worrying about the details… you will reach your target and acquire the exact amount of income you’re after.

Sure, there are many other things you could do to acquire just six new customers per day, with a commission of $33.50 per sale — but you don’t need it.

Stick to the basics. They’re basic, because they are fundamental principles that work.

I can’t tell you how long it’ll take you to reach your $5,000 per month reward.

But this simple method can make earning that lifestyle closer than ever before.

Think about it. With a $67 product at 50% commission, you’re just six sales per day away from a $5,000 per month experience that’ll change your life.

Affiliate programs and ability to generate residual income utilizing them are the hottest and one of the most searched for items on Internet right now. It is true that anyone can build their entire home based business and make money online doing nothing more that promote variable affiliate programs. And yet over 90% of people who start in this path fail! Let’s look at reasons why and how to avoid it using only tools freely available.

I will not go over obvious thing that you should pick affiliate programs that closely aligns to what you know or addresses your target audience. What I’m interested in is to how properly present them to make people actually buy into offers you suggest, increase your conversion rates and as such increase you net profits.

So you have build your website and expecting that people will flock to you and start buying like crazy … think again. Most people on Internet browse in search of information and unless you have content or product that interest them – you are out of luck. Content is the king so finding an affiliate program that gives you many options for promotion including free and tested sample content is very important. Don’t try to sell – offer information that people are searching for and make it easily available to them and once they come to trust you, make a suggestion that will be more readily accepted than outright sale pitch. Second part is to get your content presented in proper way so it will be found by search engines and hopefully reach the top positions for your target keywords.

I will assume that you already have signed up with good affiliate program that presents you with all the needed tools and proceed to the description of how to present it optimized for search engines and make it easily searchable. There is as many opinions about doing it as there are people who work in this field. I will not attempt to write a new SEO course here just share some basics that I know work. To make the best of it create many content pages each one optimized for a different keyword combinations. Not only it will help your search engine rank but will give you more chances to make you suggestion and convert your visitors into customers.

1. Find right keyword combination. This is the focal point of the page and finding what people are looking for in your category is crucial to your success. Think about what keyword combinations would you use to search for whatever it is you are trying to promote, ask your friends and family what would they use to search for. Once you have your possible keywords combinations go to the free tool that will help you analyze your keywords and will tell you different combinations that other people actually use and get 2 or 3 combinations that fit your needs. I use Overture keyword suggestion tool available here http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/. Use search engines (Google, Yahoo and MSN) to search for your chosen keywords. Take a look at the couple, three top pages found for YOUR keywords and analyze their “page title”, “page content”, “meta tags – if they have them”. Get ideas how to present your page to compete against them, find what you like and what you don’t like and use it to your advantage. Your goal is to create a Content Page that will be not only competing against them but also offering something they don’t have, something that will separate your page and make it stand on its own.

2. Create a new page for promoting your newly found keywords and include the most searched for combination into the name of the page. Use the “-“ symbol between keywords, it will make page more attractive to search engines and easy to read in search results.

3. Optimize you page “Title”, “Meta Description” and “Meta keywords” tags to include the primary keyword combination on first place as well as other combinations you have found using keyword suggestion tool.

4. Fill the page with content that is relevant to keywords you have chosen and make sure you specifically included them into your content. Use your imagination to do it as well as sample content from Affiliate Program I have mentioned above. Search engines might actually penalize you if content of the page doesn’t include your chosen keywords.

5. Include you affiliate program recommendation on this content page.

Steps above are fairly simple and as any SEO pro will tell you probably not enough to get the highest rankings but what they will accomplish – is create a Content Page that is easily found by search engines and your future customers. The best part of it is that people arrived to your page in search of information “they have searched for” and have a lot more open mind to your suggestion than customer who clicked on paid ad to arrive to your page. They are “presold” customers because “they have found you” and if your content page has information or product they need a lot more likely to buy into your suggestion.

Affiliate Marketing is not about quantity but quality of presentation. Giving people what they need and search for generates quality traffic volume of “presold” customers who arrive to your site with mind open to your suggestions and offers. Ignoring or following these simple but tried and true process is what separates successful and failed affiliates.

Engaging in the affiliate marketing business is much easier now with the internet at your disposable, compared to the days when people have to make use of the telephones and other mediums of information.

With technology at hand, and assuming that the affiliate is working from home, a day in his or her life would sound something like this…

Upon waking up and after having breakfast, the computer is turned on to check out new developments in the network. As far as the marketer is concerned, there might be new things to update and statistics to keep track on.

The site design might have to be revised. The marketer knows that a well-designed site can increase sign-ups or opt-ins from visitors, resulting in the affiliate’s higher conversion rates.

Having done that, it is time to submit the affiliate program to directories that lists affiliate programs. These directories are great means to recruit more people in into your affiliate program. A sure way of promoting the affiliate program that should never be neglected.

Time to track down the sales you are getting from your affiliates fairly and accurately. There might even be phone orders and mails to track down. See if there are new clients checking your products out the first time. Compiling the new contact information into a list as a viable source for future business and contact.

There are lots of resources to sort out. Ads, banners, button ads and sample recommendations to give out because the marketer knows that this is one way of ensuring more sales. Best to stay visible and accessible to stay on top of your market.

The affiliate marketer remembered that there are email enquiries and questions to answer from the visitors. All emails has to be answered quickly. Nothing can turn off a customer more than an unanswered email. Nobody wants to be ignored and customers are not always the most patient of all people. Quick answers should appear professional and yet friendly, most importantly strive to add a human touch, no one likes dealing with robots..

In the process of doing all the necessities, the marketer is logged on to a chat room where he or she interacts with other affiliates and those under that same program. This is where they can discuss things on how to best promote their products.

There are things to be learned and this should be a continuous process. Sharing tips and advices is a good way of showing support. There may be others out there wanting to join and may be enticed by the discussion that is going on. There is no harm in assuming the opportunities ahead.

The newsletters and ezines were updated days ago, so it is time for the affiliate marketer to see if there are some new things happening in the market. This will be written about in the marketer’s publication to be distributed to the old and new customers.

These same publications are also an important tool in keeping up to date with the newly introduced products. The marketer has put up a sale and promotion that customers may want to know about. Besides, they have to keep up with the deadline of these sales written in the publications.

It is that time to show some appreciation to those who have helped the marketer in the promotions and sale increase. Nothing like mentioning the persons, their sites and the process they have done that made everything worked.

Of course, this will be published in the newsletters.

The marketer still has time to write out recommendations to those who want credible sources for the products being promoted. There is also time to post some comments on how to be a successful affiliate marketer on a site where there are newbies or starting affiliate marketers.

Two objectives done at the same time. The marketer gets to promote the product as well as the program they are in. Someone may just be inclined to join.

Time flies. Missed lunch but is quite contented with the tasks done. Bed time….

Ok, so this may not be all done in a day. But then, this gives you an idea of how an affiliate marketer, a dedicated one that is, spends the marketing day.

Step 1 - Choose a topic of your interest…

This will be a niche you want to target. Now check out demand and competition of your niche.

Visit inventory.overture.com to check out demand of your niche. Just enter your niche keyword out there, this will show you the number of people who had searched for your niche keyword on Overture search engine.

Visit google.com and enter your niche keyword. The number of sites that show up is nothing but the competition in your niche.

Step 2 - Research Profitable Affiliate Products…

Using step 1 research a niche or a topic that has high demand and low competition.

Once you have done this visit associateprograms.com and research affiliate programs in your niche.

These profitable affiliate programs will earn you commission and make you money.

Step 3 - Ecourse, Sells like Crazy…

Create a killer ecourse where you will provide valuable information to your subscribers in your niche.

While you do this, creatively plug in your affiliate url in your ecourse that will sell your affiliate products.

Step 4 - Let the tiny robots work for YOU…

Now signup with a smart autoresponder and plug in your ecourse with an interval of 3 days.

Lets say you created 11 days ecourse for your affiliate product. Plug in each email in your autoresponder with an interval of 3 days.

With this system your autoresponder will follow up your subscribers with your ecourse for next 33 days automatically as soon as he subscribes.

This system will sell your affiliate products that you had plugged into your ecourse.

Step 5 - Lead Capturing Minisite…

Now create a simple one page lead capturing minisite to collect leads.

Offer your ecourse to your visitors for free and convince them to subscribe for your ecourse by submitting their name and email address.

Once they do this your autoresponder will work for you on autopilot, even while you sleep.

Step 6 - Traffic, Traffic & MORE Traffic…

Now the last part of the game is to promote your lead generation minisite.

Signup with pay per click search engines like overture.com, findwhat.com and open an account with Google Adwords at adwords.google.com to start getting instant targeted traffic.

Other methods of promotion are…
