You have been online for awhile, working on creating your own product. Maybe you have one already. Maybe you have a list already. But you have no income.

You need affiliate revenue.

What is affiliate revenue? Affiliate revenue is income you derive from the promotion of affiliate products.

I earn nearly one dollar per month per subscriber on one of my affiliate revenue email campaigns. How do I do it?

I simply build a relationship with my subscribers by offering them top-notch information about which they are hungry and thirsty, then I recommend they visit specially-selected affiliate web sites.

Why do I say, ‘specially-selected’? Because you cannot use just any affiliate program.

Your affiliate program must meet the following criteria before you should promote a product:

1) The product must be exceptional and be backed up with remarkable customer service.

2) The product sales page must do a phenomenal job of transferring 1) to your subscribers.

3) The affiliate program must be honest, and pay exactly when it says it will. Affiliate income must be consistent to you.

4) The affiliate product must mesh well with your own product, whether your own product is already created or just in the works.

Once you have selected an affiliate product with which to maximize your affiliate revenue, recommend the sales page or product to your subscribers. Do not sell them. Recommend them.

Thousands of people are making money from the Internet selling other people’s products.

These are who we call affiliate marketers.

While many of them are making tens or hundreds of dollars per month, you will be surprised that some are making full-time living and earning a high 5-figure income every month.

If you are not in the game, it’s hard to believe it.

I was so skeptical too.

I mean how can anyone earn thousands of dollars every month when they don’t have their own products to sell?

It was not until I, myself, started earning dollars promoting other people’s products, that I understand it is true and possible.

Some say that the best way to start making money from the internet is by becoming an affiliate marketer. I can’t comment much on that but this is very much true - making money by promoting affiliate products is possible.

For sure, marketing affiliate product is less hassle.

You don’t have to worry about customers’ issues.

You don’t have to worry about shipping products.

You don’t have to worry about refunds.

You don’t have to worry about many other things related to sales.

All you have to do is redirect potential buyers to your affiliate link and when they purchase your products, you collect commissions from the sales. You will be paid based on a certain percentage agreed upon in your affiliate agreement.

The best part is that the commission can vary from 10% up to 75% or more than that.

That means, if you are selling a product of $67 and the affiliate commission is 60%, you’ll get paid $40.20 for every sale you make.

That sounds simple, doesn’t it? Considering you don’t have to create a best-selling product, writing a good sales letter, providing support to customers, handling phone calls and much much more.

Affiliate marketing, on the other hand, does not limit to pay-per-sale basis like I mentioned above.

Here are 3 ways you can get paid by referring potential customers to affiliate merchants.

1. Pay per Sale

2. Pay Per Click

3. Pay per Lead

When you sign up for an affiliate program, you will be given a special affiliate link with a unique code to identify the click on your link is actually coming from your affiliate link.

Most of the time, you don’t have to worry about generating this link because it is generated for you when you sign up for your affiliate program. All you need to do is copy the code and promote it on your website, in the forums or in your emails.

I’ve talked about the pay-per-sale method used by many affiliate merchants. It means you get paid for sales generated.

Pay-per-click simply means you get paid for any click on your affiliate link. As simple as that.

Pay-per-lead, moreover, means your get paid for any lead you send to your merchant’s website. These website visitors have to complete a form to accept any offer from the merchant before you get credited for the commission.

This concept is mind-boggling because you can generate income without ever selling any product at all.

Send visitors to a website.

They fill up a form the website.

You get money.

Sounds good to be true?

It’s good and it’s true!

There are a lot of merchants offering affiliate programs in a wide variety of niches. You can find them easily by doing a search on Google or Yahoo.

You can also go to clickbank.com or cj.com for two of the most widely used affiliate program managers that you can participate.

This is a review of a brand new ebook that has just been released on affiliate marketing. Written by the same guy of Adwords Miracle fame.

Lets dive in and take a look, shall we?

At only about 50 pages, Affiliate Project X is quite short, however it has little fluff. I would have liked more details on each technique however.

Here is an outline of the methods inclosed in Affiliate Project X, to give you a better idea what it contains.

Method One: The Leech. This section talks bout how to promote the most popular products on clickbank the right way.

Method Two: The Affiliate Diary. This method concentrates on building a list. You use Adwords to build the list, however, with the money earned on the front end, it turns out to be free. Better than free in fact, since you are in profit if you do it right. A rather obvious one here.

Method Three: The WorkHorse Method. This section focuses on using SEO to get ranked in the search engines.

Method Four: Thief in the Night. I liked the name of this method. Basically, it shows you how to steal from the super affiliates. By steal, I mean, to locate a well promoted product using the thief in the night technique. Many affiliates promoting a product. What you then do is copy what they are doing, only do it better. This was my favorite part of the book and the only part I really liked.

Method Five: Copy the Best Part 2. If you have read Adwords Miracle, you will recognise the name. It is an extension upon that technique.

Method Six: The Opportunist. This tactic deals with locating hot, on the rise products. Choosing the right product at the right time, is very important with affiliate marketing.

Finally there is a section called, Project X Advanced Tricks. Covering such things as link cloaking and tracking affiliate sales. Most affiliates actually would already know these are important.

Overall, the book was nothing startling, and I wouldn’t waste your money. It was really hyped up at the time of release, and didn’t quite live up to the hype. I would have liked to see videos as an addition to the techniques covered in the book. Also, a forum for all owners to get together and discuss the book and affiliate marketing would also have been advantageous.

So in my opinion, don’t bother buying it. Very disappointing.

Affiliate marketing gurus point out that niche websites are more successfully in generating and sustaining affiliate income in comparison to generic, all-purpose websites.

The reason behind this is quite simple: niche markets logically create targeted visitors who are far more likely to be interested in related products and services, which is the reason they accessed your niche website.

Niche marketing is not really difficult; it basically requires concentrating your website on one particular area or category, as opposed unsuccessfully trying to be all things to all people. By concentrating your resources and efforts in the development of specialized websites, you are more likely to succeed and win the affiliate marketing game.

Focus on a Specific Subject. The more knowledgeable a person is about a particular subject, the more confident your website visitors will be when they visit your website in search of related information.

Relate your Web Content to Complimentary Products and Services. When you have established your niche or specialization, immediately relate affiliate marketing to your content. This will result in a sizeable amount of targeted traffic who are directly interested in any or all of the products or services you promote through affiliate links.

Build a Niche Directory. Whenever you come across another website that may be of interest to your visitors, place a link to it in your links directory without even asking for a link back (reciprocity). Webmasters always look at their logs to see who visited them. When they see a link to them from another website, they will usually check out what your site is all about, and click through! You just received a visit from a highly targeted visitor. More importantly, search engines are also very friendly towards niche directories in the same fashion as they are to blogs.

Write Articles to Boost Your Content. Articles that relate directly to your niche website are valuable if used effectively; they act as beacon lights that draw visitors in and expose them to all the affiliate offerings that entice them to click-thru and make a purchase. Link articles on the same subject matter together to form a virtual chain; this keeps your traffic interest high and exposes your readers to more opportunities to click-thru an affiliate link.

Use Google Adsense Effectively. Everybody is talking and writing about Google Adsense and its great income potential through placement of ads in and around your web content. Making effective use of the system by varying placement and emphasis of Google ads.

However, keep in mind that this is not a strategy for overnight or instant success. What you have come up with is a strategic niche website that turns itself into a steady income stream over a period of time.

As soon as the checks start coming in, brace your shoulders and get ready to create another niche website and repeat the whole process again! Only through this will you be able to relax and gain financial independence and literally just wait for the checks to come in!

The main question I get from my clients when coaching them on building content sites is wether they should use Adsense or affiliate programs. It’s a great question, and one that I haven’t seen addressed often. Hopefully this information will help you in making your decision.

My rule of thumb is always go where the money is, but in making the decision to use Adsense or affiliate programs, there are a few things you should look at. Let’s take a look at those things right now, so you know exactly what you should be putting on your site. Google Adsense or affiliate programs.

First, it will depend on your niche. If there is an affiliate program for your niche that converts well and pays well, then you should take the affiliate program route. I’m sure you would rather make dollars than you would cents, so using an affiliate program in this situation would be your best bet. However, if there isn’t an affiliate program, using a pay-per-click service such as Google Adsense will at least allow you to earn a little money from your content site.

This leads to another question though. How do you tell if the affiliate program you are looking at is a good one or not?

The answer to that question will take some research, but will be well worth your time. The first thing to do is to contact the site owner or affiliate manager and ask what the average conversion rate is for the affiliate program. You could also ask if they have any affiliates that would be willing to email you their experiences with the product. Once you have the answer to that question, visit a few affiliate marketing forums and ask if anyone has promoted the program before or if they have any experience with the owner or affiliate manager of the site. Usually if it’s a bad program, many people will tell you about it.

Now, if you don’t find any affiliate programs for your niche, then I would use Google Adsense or any of the other programs like it. Always check though to make sure you can’t make more money from something else. You don’t want to be making pennies on a site you could be making dollars from. Most of the time Google Adsense just pays pennies per click. So if you got 100 clicks on your Adsense ad, and made say $5, but you got 100 clicks on an affiliate link and made $50, wouldn’t it make more send to use the affiliate link on your site?

Using this as a guide will help you, but you still must test and track what works best for your site. You could put Adsense ads on your site for a few weeks, and then replace them with affiliate links for a few weeks. See what does better, and use the one that makes you more money. Just remember to keep testing and tracking!

Affiliate marketing is basically an extension of the traditional marketing promotion technique adapted to the Internet’s virtual marketplace where businesses sell products and services online to clients. To date, one of the most successful and effective affiliate marketing programs is the one employed by Amazon – their affiliate program has generated a great source of revenue for the company and their affiliates.

In an affiliate marketing program, a merchant (or company) grants permission to sub-merchants (affiliates) to promote their products or services; in return the affiliate gets a percentage of each sale generated through their efforts (the website links). The affiliate is responsible for sending targeted visitors to a vendor to buy the product, which in turn generates the sales from which they get commissions. This is one of the primary reasons webmasters affiliate their sites with complimentary products and services.

How then does a would-be sub-merchant (affiliate) profit from affiliate marketing?

Although there is no guarantee for success if you engage in the affiliate marketing online business, there are a number of fundamental marketing principles that you need to observe and follow in order to earn your commissions.

1. Customize your website content to compliment the affiliate products and services you market. You stand to gain more commissions by promoting goods and services if what you sell and promote is complimented by your website’s content. In this manner, you get targeted traffic who are more likely to respond positively and purchase what you offer instead of simply putting a banner or text link that is totally unrelated to your content.

Hypothetically, if you are searching for Pomeranians and visit a website with the relevant information and saw a banner for Hummer vehicle customization kit, it is doubtful you would even be interested to click on the banner, right?

2. Generally, niche websites do better compared to all-purpose sites when it comes to generating affiliate income streams because of their related content. A visitor visits a niche website for a one specific reason (the site’s content), therefore he or she is more likely to be interested in the complimentary products and services related with the purpose of their visit. Hit-to-sale conversion ratios are considerably higher on websites that affiliate themselves with complimentary products and services.

3. Make sure that you embed your affiliate links directly to your website content. Embedding affiliate links directly into your web content articles guarantees higher response rates, which can definitely result in substantial affiliate income.

4. Always use redirects when placing affiliate links in your content. You can easily do this by creating a redirect file, which contains your affiliate link, making sure that the page opens in a new browser window. This also provides protection to your links against affiliate hi-jacking to ensure that you are properly credited for your promotional efforts. Redirect scripts are readily available on Internet script sites.

To put it briefly, in order to be one step ahead in the affiliate marketing program, you should customize your website to fit; make sure to find complimentary products and services that you can promote; integrate your affiliate links directly into your web content and always use redirect scripts to protect your affiliate links from hijackers.

Simple? Yes, but neglecting to observe the simple and fundamental marketing techniques more often leads to failure instead of success and a steady stream of extra income!

Being a reviewer of online money making programs for TheWebReviewer.com, I was a bit shocked at the discovery that Clickbank had mysteriously removed all of its data entry products without warning. I am sure that to many affiliate marketers, this unannounced removal not only was a shock, but cost this niche a whole lot of money. First understand this: Data Entry and Type at Home programs were some of the highest converting products of the Clickbank line-up. So why would Clickbank pull the plug on these lucrative products?

One theory is the change of management and vision of Clickbank itself. In the last month, Clickbank has redeveloped their website and in doing so, may have chosen to revisit the types of products they sell. But again, why would a company drop such a high money making group of products?

Another more telling tale of the whole type-at-home and data entry program is it is estimated that over 25% of those who purchase the product return the product. Clickbank does offer a 60-day money back guarentee on all of their products. Getting a refund is a fairly simple thing to do. This high return rate not only hurts the revenue of the product, but type-classes the Clickbank product selection as sketchy.

So what is the problem with Data Entry programs and why are they being classified as scams and being returned at such a high rate? Recently, I have spent a lot of time reading up on a few "Data Entry" programs (such as DataEntryBank.com and Type-at-Home.com) and the answer is very simple: The name is very misleading! These data entry programs are nothing more than affiliate marketing programs (just like TheRichJerk, Wealthy Affiliate and Affiliate Cash Vault). These programs themselves are actually pretty good for affiliate marketing programs, but you would not tell that from their ad-copy. It describes "Just fill out a few Google Ads and make money today…" I suppose you are "entering data", but there is a whole lot more to this to be successful. (The eBooks go into the "more", as well, but this is not what the ad-copy told you!).

I think people go into Data Entry programs and Type-At-Home programs with the thinking that they will just need to "type" or "enter data" and presto!, I will make money. When they finally join the program and learn that it is a lot more than that, they become frustrated or disappointed. This leads to high returns and the word "Scam" labelled all over the product.

Data Entry Programs themselves are not scams. The way they are presented is what the scam is all about. These "Type-at-home" programs can profitable, but understand that they are affiliate marketing programs, not simple data entry. If you are truly looking for "data entry" kinds of programs, Paid Surveys are one option (Survey Scout, for example). There are also "true" data entry programs that fit the criteria of typing data in for a price (the biggest and best site for this is: Freelance Work Exchange.

At the end of the day, it is kind of a shame that these so called "data entry" and "type-at-home" programs have marketed themself into the "Scam" stigma; not because of the quality of their product, but because of the way they represent and sell their product to the public.

Matthew is a 32 year old online entrepreneur and engineer currently living in San Diego, CA.

Pay-per-click programs (PPC’s) allow you to buy a position in a search engine results’ page by bidding on search terms selecting the price you wish to pay for each visitor your receive. If someone clicks on your ad, you receive them to your site or webpage. knowing this means you could get cheap traffic for an affiliate site and pocket the difference from the commissions you earn.

In addition, you only pay for people who actually click on your link (for banner ads, you often have to pay when someone sees it.) Bids usually start at around five cents per click but its now getting beyond that with company policies to secure more profits. The top three bids are often promoted across a network of sites. There can also be terrific expense too.

You have to figure out what you can afford and keep to it. Base your decision on your visitor to sales ratio (the number of visitors on average that it takes to generate a sale) and your net profit per sale.

So for example, if you were get a sale from every tenth visitor, and you net a profit of $20 from each sale, then you can’t pay more than $2 for each click without operating at a loss. In practice, you might make one sale for every 500 or so clicks and pay perhaps 15 or 20 cents for each visitor, depending on your market. It’s absolutely crucial for you to know your visitor to sales ratio.

It’s also important to keep that ratio high be only offering bids on the relevant keywords. Not all visitors to your site are equal ! Search engines can send people over who are not looking for your particular offering. So, if you are not careful you will just spend hard earned money!

Submitting to ppc search engines

Submitting your site to a PPC is certainly a lot faster than submitting to a search engine or a directory. You must, however, make sure you consider the following:

The maximum amount you can bid
The keywords you wish to bid on.
The titles and descriptions of the site.

Have the keyword in the title and a catchy, informative description. Remember clicks can equal money.

AdWords Advertising

Buying an ad on Google is a little complicated but there is one advantage here compared with Overture. Google wants relevant results otherwise people will eventaully drift away from them.So factored in with the cost you are prepared to pay is something called CTR or click through rate. in effect you could have two advertisers bidding on similar keywords but one gets more clicks while both bidders are offering the same money to get results.

So you can rank higher in the results’ list but not pay any extra money to achieve this. Advertisers enter a maximum bid per click and this is multiplied by the click-through rate (the percentage of users who click on the ad). That’s the score Google use to allocate position.

Let’s say that gives you top position. You might then get even more users and a higher click-through rate of 2%. That higher rate would reduce your price to 50 cents (0.01 divided by 2%). The description is paramount.

Always place the AdWord in the most appropriate category and track the responses you receive. If you dont get many clicks you may have to stop, re write your ad /change keywords or even bid more money if that is justifiable. So for affiliate programs you have to be careful as you only get a commission for so much and need something left over to justify the traffic or visitors that you are trying to obtain.

Some folks still do not believe that it is possible to make serious cash online, from affiliate programs or otherwise, on autopilot. After all free easy money has never existed in this life and it probably never will.

If you are one of those people who thrive on this kind of thinking, then I appeal to you to rethink your position. It could mean a lot of profit for you for many years to come. Firstly while earning money from an affiliate program on autopilot is possible, it is not easy money. There is a lot of very hard work that needs to go into it initially. But the big plus here is that you will need to do all the hard foundational work once and then the income will keep on flowing in to you for years to come.

To Make Cash Fast On Autopilot You Will Need A Certain Type Of Affiliate Program Not only will you need to choose a certain type of affiliate program, you will also need to carefully pick out the particular one that will best suit your needs and objective. This is much more important than most people realize. The truth of the matter is that there is nothing that can be more frustrating than selecting an affiliate program where your chances of making money are slim. Especially for a low traffic web site or blog site. Here is a hard fact of online life that you must be careful never to forget. Very few affiliate programs will make you money from a low traffic site. Actually, extremely few affiliate programs will allow a small site to see a single red cent!

As a policy never join an affiliate program that has not been recommended to you by a source that you trust.

I was once attracted to an excellent affiliate program run by a very reputable and well respected large company. To make things even better, the program paid commissions for second tier and even third tier referrals. In other words one is able to earn revenue not only from people that they introduce directly to the program, but also from those that have been introduced by their referrals. This was an excellent example of how folks can make money on autopilot, you introduce one referral and then you will continue earning money from their sales and those of persons they introduce to the program for years to come. I was besides myself with excitement. But alas, there was only one problem - to be able to earn from this program, one would require huge traffic, and I mean colossal amounts of traffic every day.

Appropriate Types Of Make Cash Fast On Autopilot Affiliate Programs: Two Lucrative, Ideal Examples You will never go wrong if you always make an effort to select affiliate programs that market products that are in high demand and especially the sort of product or services that virtually everybody needs at one time or another. Looking at my top autopilot affiliate programs, this rule is true for every single one of them.

Don’t waste your time with affiliate programs that will never work for low traffic web sites or blog sites. Read the full version of this article at my affiliate make cash blog and see the highly valuable list of my top two unique autopilot cash generating affiliate programs that work well with low traffic sites.
