Fed up with Adsense?

There are lots of supposed gurus out there who will tell you that there is still big money to be made with Adsense. I’m not sure I believe them anymore. I wonder if they are just trying to promote their adsense products while trying hard to convince us that there is a goldmine waiting to be discovered. I personally don’t think so. Don’t get me wrong - I’m still running my adsense ads but I don’t rely on them alone.

What are some others ways to add to your Adsense income?

Affiliate marketing is a great way to add income by promoting someone else’s products. Let’s look at one very organized, profitable option; ClinkBank. With ClinkBank, rather than make a few pennies per click like you do with Adsense, you make a percentage of the total price of the sale – usually 40% – 60%. An example would be an e-book on dog training that is selling for $37. Your affiliate commission would be between $15 and $22 which is a whole lot better than pennies from Adsense. And many of the internet marketing e-books being sold today are being sold for $197 or more with a commission of $80 - $120 for just one sale!

How can you tap into making money with ClinkBank?

  1. First, sign up for a ClinkBank account at http://www.clickbank.com/. Give some thought to picking a userid that you’ll want your customers to see. Something solid, something dependable, it can be your name but doesn’t have to be.
  2. Next do your homework on selecting a product to promote. Clink on the ‘Market Place’ tab on ClinkBank for ideas. Be sure to choose something that you’re interested in. It makes it much more interesting and easier for you to sell.
  3. Which products are ‘hot’ right now and flying off the shelves?
  4. What products are being promoted in emails filling up your inbox?
  5. Use the ‘Market Place’ tab to analyze which product to select. Look for new products that haven’t been ‘done to death’. ClinkBank makes it easy to sort by most popular products, highest commission, etc.
  6. Now go to work promoting it with a single sales page or small (5 pages or less) website.
  7. Use GoodKeywords.com (free), WordTracker.com (free trial) or Inventory.Overture.com (free) to find relevant, highly searched, low cost keywords.
  8. Use Adwords Pay per click (Adwords.Google.com) to bid on these keywords to bring traffic to your website.
  9. Write newsletter articles to publish a review of this product with links and anchor text in the author bio that point to your website. Carefully chose a category that best relates to the product you are promoting.
  10. I know that it’s popular right now (and tempting) to just re-write someone else’s article. Don’t. It’s a short cut that isn’t cost effective. People are getting wise to reading the same old article that has been sliced and diced over and over. Take the time and do it right.
  11. Publish your newsletter article to a wide audience using a product like Article Post Robot that allows you to post to over 200 e-zines with one click to gain wide exposure.
  12. Write another newsletter article. If you’re shaking your head at this point – don’t. Newsletter articles really aren’t that hard to write – just write as though you were speaking to a friend telling them about your product. 350 to 500 words are plenty. Newsletter articles that are done well are like money in the back. Free advertising that points back to your website sales page link with your hand picked keyword anchor text. When submitting your second article, chose a category similar but not identical to your first.
  13. Anyone who clicks on your anchor text in your author bio box at the bottom of your article is taken to your sales page/website where you convince them to click on your ClinkBank link for the product you’re selling and if they buy, you make the commission. How cool is that?

What do you do if you have no cash or expertise to create a sales page or website?

Don’t worry – there is still money to be made if you are willing to work hard.

a. follow steps 1 -5 above, skip steps 6 & 8 for the no-cost option
b. follow steps 7, 9 & 10
c. for step 11, publish your newsletter article to the one of the top e-zines for free. Do a Google search for ‘e-zines’ and check to see if they have a Google ranking of 5 or higher and if they accept affiliate links in the author box. Some do, some don’t.
d. if they do accept affiliate links, for step 12, enter your ClinkBank link instead of your website address. You can’t miss and best of all, it doesn’t cost you a dime.

Internet affiliate marketing is a huge industry. There are literally thousands of people who consider themselves affiliate marketers who are making a living online. If you are an affiliate marketer, you advertise other people’s products and when a sale is made because of your advertising, you make a commission. The most common way for an affiliate marketer to advertise is through pay per click programs such as Google Adwords.

It is a great way for someone to make a living. It is also much more difficult then one might imagine. It is very easy to get blinded by all the money making possibilities as an affiliate marketer and quickly get in over your head with advertising costs. I am a beginning affiliate marketer and in the two months that I have been trying this out, I have definitely spent more then I have earned. I have also learned a great deal from the guides that I have purchased. When I first started looking to make money online, I found affiliate marketing. I thought that it would be a piece of cake. I spent about $500 on advertising and didn’t sell a single thing. It was incredibly discouraging. So I gave up for a while and then came back to it. I bought a couple of affiliate guides and started to put into practice some of the methods explained in them. And you know what? I started to make some money. It is very exciting when you see your hard work pay off.

Affiliate marketing is hard work. Do not be fooled by the claims of 15 minutes a day. At some point, that may be all the time you will need to spend, but when you are starting out, it is a much greater time commitment if you want to be successful. There is a lot of research that goes into finding the products and the keywords and watching that you don’t overspend on advertising. There are techniques that you can learn to improve the rate in which people click on the ads that you place to sell the affiliate products.

The main or most popular way to advertise affiliate products is through Google Adwords. This is an advertising program through Google. Adwords in itself can be a complicated process to learn the rules and regulations that will keep your ads from being disapproved. Google also gives you a quality score which affects the price you pay for your keywords as well as your ad placement. A person with a better quality score will pay a lower price for a high placed ad. Getting a high quality score is very important to keep your advertising costs down.

If you are interested in internet affiliate marketing, it is a good idea to learn all you can before becoming involved so that you don’t blow through your budget before you see any profits. It can be a very financially rewarding experience if you learn the correct way to the affiliate marketing system.

In this article I aim to highlight the Importance of Back-End Sales in Affiliate Marketing and how to implement a Back-End sales strategy to your affiliate marketing business.

An enormous amount of time, effort and money goes into attracting customers to ones website. Everything from PPC (pay per click) to writing articles to blogs, linking etc……. Therefore it is in an affiliate marketers best interest to make the most out of each person they bring to the website. The most effective way to achieve this is to implement a Back-End Sales strategy.

Traditionally, Back-End sales is when you sell to a customer who has already made a purchase. It is much easier to sell to an existing customer because a level of trust has already been obtained from the initial purchase. In the affiliate marketing arena, Back-End leads are the highest quality leads in the business.

To apply an effective Back-End strategy you need an auto-responder and you will need to create an affiliate leads capture page.

A leads capture page can be made from an affiliate landing page. The difference being instead of enticing people to the sales page you would entice them to purchase the product by supplying their name and e-mail in the opt-in form then the link to the affiliate sales page can be sent via auto-responder. Back-End selling can then be applied to the opt-in list whether they have purchased the product or not.

Alternatively, one could setup a leads capture page with a free product (e-book, e-course etc…) that is relevant and ideally supplemental to the product you are selling. Once the customer has submitted their name and e-mail you can have the free gift delivered via auto-responder. If the free gift was useful and of value to the customer you would have gained a level of trust and Back-Selling would be most effective. Alot of successful affiliates use this strategy.

The importance of a Back-End strategy to an affiliate marketing business plan cannot be over stated. If your in the affiliate marketing game and you don’t have a Back-End strategy your basically throwing money down the drain.

Keywords are incredibly important for internet marketers. The right keywords make the difference between a profitable campaign and a campaign that loses money. If you are new to internet affiliate marketing, you may not yet realize the importance of keywords. First, let me explain what a keyword is. A keyword is what a user types into a search engine when they want information about a certain subject. For example, a person who has just purchased a golden retriever puppy may need information about house training. They would then type house training into a search engine and sort through the results. The importance of keywords stems from the fact that people type different words into the search engine when they are looking for the same information. For example, one person might type house training puppy while another types housebreaking puppy. Two different words with essentially the same meaning.

If you are trying to sell a product as an affiliate marketer, you know that finding the relevant keywords for your particular product is what will make or break your campaign. The best keywords are not always the most common because the most common will have the most competition and that will make them the most expensive. They are also usually the most general which also makes them somewhat untargeted. If you type house training a puppy into a search engine you will get much more specific results then if you simply type house training. So the keywords house training a puppy will bring you much more targeted traffic and this will make your campaign much more profitable.

Whenever someone clicks on your ad is pay per click advertising, you pay a price for that click. That process is determined by many different factors including the individuals own advertising Quality Score. A quality score is used by google. They take into consideration many different factors which are not fully known. One of the factors which is known os the click through rate. This is the amount of times your ad is clicked on per times it is shown. The higher our CTR, the better your quality score because it means people are finding your ad relevant to what they are searching for. Making your ads relevant to your keywords is very important. It will save you wasted clicks on people who don’t really want what you are selling and raise your quality score through google which will lower your advertising costs.

Picking the right keywords and making your ads relevant to those keywords is probably the most important thing in affiliate marketing is you wish to be successful. It will keep your costs down and your profits high because you will have targeted traffic that is clicking on your ads. Targeted traffic is much more likely to buy what you are promoting then untargeted traffic.

Have you been searching for the ultimate online affiliate marketing program to promote? Here are 3 key things you should look for when choosing it:

1) Make it an information type product. This can include online services. In my opinion, information products offer the greatest profit potential on the Internet. Think about it - There’s no inventory, no shipping hassles, and barely any customer service. If the customer isn’t happy, they get a refund. But you say, "I’m just an affiliate marketer. Why does that affect me anyway?" Simple. If the company providing the product has hardly any overhead, that leaves more to pay you, in affiliate commissions. I’ve seen information products paying affiliates as much as 50-70%, or more! Some experts would tell you to find a niche, then market to that niche. I personally prefer to find products that appeal to a wider audience. The choice is totally up to you.

2) The second key to finding the ultimate online affiliate program is residual income. Residual income is what creates real wealth. Make one sale, get paid again and again, without even making another sale. Which would you rather do, spend the time and money on promotion to get paid once, or time after time for years, or even the rest of your life? Subscription based products, such as web hosting and paid newsletters are ideal. Not quite sure what web hosting is? Web hosting enables you to put your website out on the World Wide Web for everyone to see. A hosting server stores your website files, and then serves them to the Internet so that when people type in your domain or web address, they see the website that you created. All websites need to be hosted somewhere. Maybe you could sell subscriptions to someone else’s newsletter, and recieve a commisson. There also are dozens and dozens of membership sites that collect a monthly fee out there. Find one that appeals to you.

3) The third, and most important key in finding the ultimate online affiliate program is your passion. We all would like our life to feel purposeful. We want to feel passionate about what we’re doing, to be excited about how we spend our days, to love our life and to feel we’re making some valuable contribution. What’s your passion? Be honest with yourself. What do you spend your time doing? What do you spend your money on? Maybe you’ve purchased a product yourself that you can’t stop telling others about. Check into it. Ask if they have an affiliate program. You could be earning a commission for doing what you’re already doing for free! If you find a product that lets your passion shine through, suddenly it’s not work anymore, it’s fun! When you are truly passionate about something, you don’t have to try hard. It’s engaging, it’s exciting. When challenges arise, they can’t deter you. They might slow you down a bit, but they can’t stop you!

Finding an affiliate program that is an information product, produces residual income, and combine it with your passion and you will have found the "ultimate affiliate program" for you to promote.

When I first began my online business, I had no idea that I would eventually find myself making tons of money by selling other people’s products. In a nutshell, that’s what being an Affiliate Marketer is all about. Though there are dozens of great reasons to begin promoting affiliate products, here are my top 10…

Reason #1 No Product Development Costs - The cost to develop and produce a new product is expensive. Some products require tens of thousands of dollars in their initial stages – and that doesn’t include all of the marketing costs! But you needn’t worry about that as an affiliate.

Reason #2 Low Cost Set-up - Got a desk, Internet-connected computer and word-processing software? You’re in business! Most affiliate programs are FREE to join and there are no on going costs. This is truly a very inexpensive business to start.

Reason #3 No Geographic Limits on Distribution - Remember: you are doing business on the WORLD WIDE web. Your market reach is only limited by your ability to notify people of your product, NOT by fences, state lines, or borders of any kind.

Reason #4 Choose From Tens of Thousands of Products and Services – What can you find for sale online? That’s right…Everything! There are a number of affiliate networks available to choose from, so it’s easy to find products that are related to your current or planned web site.

Reason #5 No Merchant Account Required – Are you fearful of the administrative demands of running an online business? Forget about them! The merchant handles all payment processing, so you never have to lose sleep over charge backs, fraud or losing your merchant account. Plus you will never need to worry about collecting and storing names, addresses, credit card numbers – it’s all done for you!

Reason #6 No Inventory to Carry – As an affiliate marketer, you do not have to worry about storing boxes or cases of unused or unsold product in your garage. Your part of the money making equation is to bring the buyer and the seller together – that’s it! The only thing you need to store is the money in your bank account.

Reason #7 No Shipping Costs - You will never have to worry about buying packing supplies like boxes, styrofoam and tape. The cost and hassle to prepare and ship products to customers worldwide, which for some products can be quite expensive, belongs to the merchant, not you.

Reason #8 No Customer Concerns – One of the greatest aspects of being an affiliate marketer is that you will not need to deal with customer issues or complaints. If a customer has a problem with the product or service that they bought, they take that issue directly to the merchant – not to you.

Reason #9 Make Money While You Sleep - What other business allows you as a sole proprietor to keep your doors open and keep making money even when you take breaks or after you go home for the night? Once you have set up this type of business, it can literally run on its own. Vacations away from home? No problem, your online business can keep making automated sales for you, whether you’re there or not.

Reason #10 High Income Potential - With your own affiliate business your income potential is limited only by your desire, effort and imagination - not your boss. The amount that you earn will be proportional to what you put into your business – not your hourly scale or monthly salary. Many people are making 5 figures a month solely through affiliate marketing. Can we all expect to make that? Of course not, at least initially, BUT, we can expect to earn a good living.

That’s it for this article, ten simple reasons to become an affiliate marketer. Low start up costs, very few customer relation challenges and a HUGE potential to make you money, is how I would sum up the 10 reasons. Now get out there and start marketing, you can thank me later! :-)

Affiliate marketing is one of the greatest internet-marketing sources that promotes the services and products of your company. Earlier, affiliate-marketing programs have never been as popular before as it is today. Is there any specific reason for that? There can be a number of reasons. The most probable reason, however, could be the fact that the benefits of affiliate marketing have become clearer to many people now than they were before.

Today, as become have become internet savvy and they know the importance of the internet and affiliate marketing over the internet. Both merchants and affiliates can see the benefits of affiliate marketing for both of them. The merchant sees affiliate marketing today as the chance to advertise their products at a lower cost. The affiliates, on the other hand, sees affiliate marketing as an easy way of earning profits online by doing what they like most, and that is by creating websites. For merchants and affiliates alike, affiliate marketing is now considered as a main source of profits and revenues.

There are actually different types or classes of affiliate marketing, and the number of types will depend on how one will classify them. The most basic affiliate marketing programs, however, falls under two categories: pay-per-click (PPC), and pay-per-performance (PPP).

Pay Per Click (PPC)

PPC is the most popular type of affiliate marketing for affiliates with small websites, and probably the easiest way for them to earn money. In this affiliate marketing type, the merchant pays his affiliate whenever a visitor is referred to his site, that is whenever someone clicks through the merchant’s banner or text ads. The affiliate gets paid a certain amount even if the visitor he referred does not purchase anything from the merchant’s site. However, typical fees for PPC affiliate programs are small, usually not exceeding a dollar for every click.

Pay Per Performance (PPP)

PPP affiliate marketing is the most popular among merchants and is the most lucrative type for the affiliates. In this type of affiliate program, the merchant only pays the affiliate whenever his referral translates into an action—that is whenever the visitor he has referred actually buys something from the merchant’s site or when the visitor becomes a lead. Pay-per-performance affiliate marketing can be further classified into two popular types: pay-per-sales (PPS) and pay-per-lead (PPL).

Pay Per Sale (PPS)

In a pay-per-sale type of affiliate marketing, the merchants pay the affiliates a certain fee whenever the visitors he has referred to the merchant’s site actually buys something from the merchant’s site. Affiliates are often paid on commission basis, although other merchants would opt to pay a fixed fee. But no matter what the basis of the fee is, it is generally higher than the fee paid to affiliates in a pay-per-click affiliate program.

Pay Per Lead (PPL)

The pay-per-lead type of affiliate marketing is a slight variation of the PPS type and is often used by insurance and finance companies and other companies who rely on leads for their company to grow. In this type of affiliate marketing, the affiliate is paid whenever the visitor he referred to the merchant’s site fills up an application form or any similar form related to the business of the company.

Aside from these three specific types of affiliate marketing, a lot of other affiliate marketing types exist. If the classification is based on the depth of the affiliate network, it can be classified as single-tier, two-tier, and multi-tier affiliate marketing.

This is my follow up to Affiliate And Referral Marketing, The 21st Century Silk Road - Part 1, if you have not read Part 1, you may search Google for the title above or search the archives of this resource.

Effective and efficient marketing and distribution of products and services, is the missing link that will unite our planet and provide an equitable foundation upon which to build sound economies. I have selected Affiliate and Referral marketing as the most likely to succeed at these tasks.

Market speculation is a wasteful form of doing business in my opinion. I am not an expert in any speculative markets; I only look at the symptoms of the world economy and find a lot to be desired. When we harness the power of cooperative effort, most of the lack and decay we see will be eliminated.

Multi-national corporations and individuals will benefit from Cooperative Economics, and the system that I have been investigating fits well as a candidate to serve the most people. Sharing our goods and services leads to a healthy rapport along our evolving trade route.

Building a Global Cooperative by branding a single URL, is the most cost efficient way to build. Member concerns will automatically benefit from the traffic to the cooperative, through a calibrated behind the scene process. This process will insure the equitable and efficient distribution of new consumer traffic into the cooperative.

The initial product that is offered by the cooperative should be able to be delivered electronically over the Internet to establish a broad global base. The product should also be affordable to the largest number of people possible to allow for participation of low-income individuals. Once the cycles and areas of growth are established it will be possible to expand into more tangible products.

The potential for this type of system to provide benefits to the great and the small worldwide is enormous. There are other ramifications that may be considered in a future article that could change the way we live our daily lives. There are too many people living in poverty in a world with the talent to do better.

Like the Silk Road of ancient times, this process will stimulate more travel and exchange of ideas and culture, which will serve to unite our disintegrating world. Communities that are now disconnected from participating in the abundance this planet has to offer will be thriving components of our system.

If this somehow seems like pie in the sky, I would like to remind you that this whole world has been built by someone’s dreams and persistent actions. Here is your chance.
