The military rely a lot of intelligence. That is why they are able to do things that we civilians find really amazing. Now, online we have access to marketing intelligence that we can’t afford to overlook if we intend to make the most of our affiliate marketing and other online ventures.

For you to start to generate affiliate revenue, you need to have products to recommend and have a lot of people to make those recommendations to. If you recommend stuff to those who are dying for it, your task becomes a lot easier.

When you do a keyword research, you get to know what people are searching for, how many people search for a particular thing, how they search for it and those who provide what they are searching for.

This information will help you decide on the best niche to target and which keywords to focus on when writing your pages. It shows you how profitable a keyword is, how much ad revenue can be made from each keyword and a whole lot of other stuff.

Take for example, that you have chosen a keyword and you have a page that ranks well for it. You would have loved to promote a product on this page. However, when you look through your research data, you notice that advertisers pay a lot for just a click.

With this kind of information, you can easily determine if it’s in your best interest to place Google’s Adsense or Yahoo’s ads on the page or simply go ahead with your affiliate promotion.

If you didn’t have the right data, you wouldn’t have been able to decide what was best for you as far as maximizing your affiliate revenue was concerned.

There are a lot of bits and pieces that you can’t afford to ignore if you want to make the most affiliate revenue. Make reading through and studying good affiliate marketing books an important part of your plans.

If you want a great book on how you, too, can succeed in your affiliate business, get this one. It is free but believe me, you won’t need to buy another book on affiliate marketing for a very long time.

You can work hard in this affiliate business and still fail. You can spend a lot of money and still fail. It’s a painful thing but it does happen. The good thing, though, is that it doesn’t happen because an affiliate is under some kind of spell, it happens because of certain mistakes that can be fixed.

A lot of affiliates fail because they use banners to refer prospects to their merchants. Banners are very easy to implement. But you know it: Nothing good comes easy.

Check any super affiliate you know and see if they ever refer prospects through a banner ad. People see banners as plain sales pitches. Furthermore, a lot of people hardly ever click through banners these days.

So use in-context text links. It will increase your click-through rate dramatically. It will take a lot more effort to build content in which you’ll embed the text link but it will be well-worth your time and effort.

Another reason is that those affiliates sell instead of preselling. Your work as an affiliate is to build trust and credibility. Your work is to make your visitors and subscribers see you as a trustworthy expert.

Leave the selling to the sales copy. If you do a great preselling job, a lot of folks will not bother going through the sales copy (You know they can be really long).

Lastly, those affiliates often recommend products or services they don’t have first-hand experience of. They have not used them so when they talk about them they cannot really carry the weight of someone who has used them.

If you want a great book on how you, too, can succeed in your affiliate business, get this one. It is free but believe me, you won’t need to buy another book on affiliate marketing for a very long time.

When people hear that some affiliates (super affiliates) make tens of thousands of dollars monthly, they think it is one of those hypes on the internet. There are affiliates you make over $10,000 monthly.

The truth is that of every affiliate program only 20% of the affiliates generate 80% of the sales. So, what is it that they know and do that makes them produce such awesome results? What is it they do that makes them so effective?

They understand a great art: The art of preselling…

If your doctor says it, you take him very seriously, don’t you? Why? You do because you trust his expertise. If you believe you are dealing with an expert on an issue, you’re more likely to accept what they recommend on a matter.

What if this person isn’t just an expert but also happens to be a close friend? Your willingness to follow his recommendation will soar to the skies. Now, what if this friend isn’t just an expert but is The Expert on the subject?

Your defences are removed totally. That’s what preselling is all about. That’s what will dramatically alter your conversion rates. If you do this you’ll see conversions of over 20%. I have seen conversions up to 28%.

If you are truly interested in exploding your affiliate revenue, then you must learn to make your prospects see you as an expert or better still, the expert. Make them see you as a trusted friend in addition and you’ll see your affiliate revenue improve dramatically.

If you want a great book on how you, too, can succeed in your affiliate business, get this one. It is free but believe me, you won’t need to buy another book on affiliate marketing for a very long time.

If you intend to make the most of a selling business offline, you’ll do well to get a shop or outlet on a busy street. The busier the street, the better for your business.

And if your shop is on this very busy street, you’ll do well to call as much attention as possible to your shop. This is achieved with high-powered displays, lights and any other thing that the imagination can access.

Painfully, a lot of hardworking affiliate marketers come online with that mindset. They think it’s about setting up a great website with all the flash and animation they can afford.

They build and watch and wait and nothing happens. It bothers them that after so much work, they are not getting a good result. Since they have the bucks, they go all out and start spending quite a fortune placing ads here and there. They spend big on PPC’s and guess what? They start seeing results but when they balance everything out, they are not making reasonable profit.

I hate to see hardworking affiliates fail!

What’s wrong? They don’t understand that online it is not about location. It is about information. People don’t search for you. They don’t come across your shop accidentally.

You need to be found at the search engines. You must build your site in such a way that it gets you a lot of traffic without your having to pay a dime. That’s the fundamental reality of the web: People come online for information.

Now that you know, go ahead and start building great pages such that the search engines like. That is the first step towards affiliate business success.

If you want a great book on how you, too, can succeed in your affiliate business, get this one. It is free but believe me, you won’t need to buy another book on affiliate marketing for a very long time.

What is quality traffic to your affiliate revenue? It is the lifeblood of the business model. It gives you your only opportunity to make a conversion. Simply put: If you don’t have substantial quality traffic, you simply have no affiliate revenue.

Take note that it is not just traffic. This is because there are a lot of services that promise you as many as a million visitors for just $95. These will give you numbers in your log. However, those numbers are totally worthless as far as generating any income for you.

So, you want traffic, but more importantly, you want real and high quality traffic.

It is a great idea to think of how to maximize your affiliate revenue. However, that’s the last step in the process of getting affiliate revenue or in fact any income online.

Offline, there is usually accidental traffic. People who had no plans to make any purchase who just happened to pass by and, guess what? They found your shop.

Online that really doesn’t happen. People come looking for information. They usually go to search engines to help them find what they are looking for. If they must find you, they must do that at the search engines. Yes, after a substantial number finds you, you can get traffic by human activities like word of mouth referrals. But first, you must get found.

It is crucial that you perfect the act of getting found on search engines. You need to know how to analyze your pages for best performance. Better still, you need tools that make the whole process a whole lot easier.

If you want a great book on how you, too, can succeed in your affiliate business, get this one. It is free but believe me, you won’t need to buy another book on affiliate marketing for a very long time.

If you can get an editorial review on a product in the New York Times, you’ll make a lot of bucks in affiliate commissions. It is a very trusted source. They’ve built a reputation over the years: If you can get them (New York Times) to do an editorial review of your product or service, then you must have something great to offer.

This feeling is only a perception. However, this perception is crucial to your affiliate business success. What people think of your traffic source is very important.

So, if you are implementing different strategies in your traffic campaign, ensure you take into consideration what people’s perception of your traffic source is. Poor perception translates to more resistance to your preselling efforts. That means you get little affiliate revenue for so much hard work. That’s not good.

It is better to have 5000 visits resulting from a New York Times editorial review than to have 10,000 visits from a banner ad or a Free For All site.

Why? That’s twice the traffic. Yes, I know. You don’t just need all the traffic you can get. You need traffic that will convert highly. If people come from a highly credible source, your work is half done. Believe me, if you do your bit well you’ll convert up to ten times more from the New York Times review than you’ll get from the less credible sources.

This is true especially if you’re new to this stuff. More advanced users can find a way of making a lot more from an inferior source. Having said that, they’ll still prefer great and credible sources for their traffic.

If you have a high traffic count with little affiliate revenue to show for it you’re only wasting your resources. That’s not how to succeed in affiliate marketing or any other for that matter.

If you want a great book on how you, too, can succeed in your affiliate business, get this one. It is free but believe me, you won’t need to buy another book on affiliate marketing for a very long time.

If you want to build an online business the easiest way, then the affiliate model is certainly the easiest route to go. However, like everything else there is a way to do it if you intend to get the most out of it. If do what seems right to you, you’ll fail. You have to do what has been proven to work.

Since this write-up is mainly for the new folks in internet money-making, let’s define what affiliate business is…

It is a business model where you refer prospects to a merchant or service provider. Once they complete an action (It could be a purchase or filling a form or any other measurable action), you get paid a commission.

You don’t get a dime if they don’t complete the action.

What makes the affiliate business model perfect for newcomers is that you have very little risks and can start up in a shorter time. You don’t have anything to do with processing credit cards, fulfilling orders, giving support and all those stuff that accompany buying and selling.

All you do is send them to your merchant or service provider and you start earning commissions.

It sounds so simple! Yes, it is but the truth is that it isn’t easy…

You first have to know how to get visitors/prospects at a cost that keeps you profitable.

You have to know what to say to them and how to say it so that they will buy.

You have to know how to keep in touch with them so you can have the opportunity of giving them another offer or repeating the same offer.

You have to know what NOT to say if you intend to keep them coming for more.

These are important things you need to know if you intend to succeed in your affiliate business.

I started out with a great but free ebook. It is still the greatest book to date and the best part of it is that it’s free. You don’t even have to give your name or email address. But please, do yourself a favor. Don’t buy any book on starting a profitable affiliate business until you’ve read this. You’ll discover it is simply the best book on the topic at any price.

Now that you’ve decided to set up a wonderful affiliate business, here’s a summary or overview of what it takes to succeed in very straightforward terms…

You have to start creating high value content. This is because the truth is that when people come online, they are not looking for you. They don’t know you. If they did, they’ll simply type in your site’s name in their address bar.

However, you don’t just start creating any high quality content on different and unrelated issues. You first start by choosing a theme that you love, doing a keyword research, picking profitable keywords, choosing a domain name based on your keyword research deductions, planning your site’s structure, choose a look and feel that matches your theme and a host of other things (Please, this is supposed to be an overview).

If you’ve done all this right you will get good traffic from the search engines. But if you don’t do them right, you’ll get little or no traffic and that means no affiliate commissions for you.

You must also ensure that you send your visitors to your merchants in a very open-to-buy frame of mind. If you fail in this, all the traffic you get will really amount to nothing. This process is called preselling. This is when you build their trust in you. How do you do that? By giving them very helpful information and loads of it.

Once you have happy visitors, you can start making money. But this is a time for you to use commonsense. You need to pick merchants wisely. Remember, if you represent trash, it could only mean you’re less than trash.

You also need to diversify your sources of revenue in your affiliate business. If you do all these very well, you will start smiling to the bank within a year or two depending on how much you invest your peculiar abilities and resources.

If you want a great book on how you, too, can succeed in your affiliate business, get this one. It is free but believe me, you won’t need to buy another book on affiliate marketing for a very long time.

Have you noticed yet that more and more people around the world want to work from home and make money online?

Have you ever wished you could just wake up whenever you want, have a cup of coffee, turn on your computer, work for a couple of hours online, and then spend your time with your family and hobbies? Indeed, working from home gives a lot of benefits, freedom and income.

However, many people wrongfully think that making good money online requires a website and huge investment. Here’s a fact: you can start making hundreds of dollars per month within weeks with no upfront fees and even without a website.

How?

Affiliate marketing allows you to earn commissions for selling other people’s products or services online. As you study every word of this article you will become amazed at how easy it will be for you to get started earning cash on the Internet because you can join any affiliate network at no cost.

For example, you can join Clickbank:

http://www.webmastertools4u.com/cgi-bin/jump.cgi?ID=4

In order to learn more about marketing Clickbank products, make sure to read their website, FAQs and information in your member’s area.

Then go to Clickbank’s "Marketplace" and browse the categories that interest you. When you find a product that interests you, visit it’s pitch page and read the sales letter. I even suggest you buying the product that interests you. You’ll understand why this will increase your affiliate earnings by the time you finish reading this article.

When you find a product that you would like to promote, press on the "Create Hoplink", enter your nickname that you have entered when joining Clickbank and create your affiliate link (hoplink) which you will be marketing on the Internet at no cost.

In order to make money online, you’ll have to promote your affiliate link by using any of the 3 methods that don’t require a website:

1) Forum posting

2) Article writing

3) Pay-per-click (PPC) search engine marketing

But before you can start using any of the above methods, I must warn you that each of them requires your time and work. If you think that it’s easy money, you’d better go watch TV or keep browsing the Internet.

But let me confess something: If you are like me, and if you are ready to put some time and effort, in the next few minutes you’re going to learn how to transform your life and start making cash on the Internet by marketing affiliate programs.

Marketing your affiliate link via forums

One of the easiest ways for beginners to earn affiliate commissions is to post comments in forums related to the product that you have chosen to market.

Now follow my path. All you have to do is go to your favorite search engine and find online forums related to the theme of your product. Create an account at each forum. Then go to update your profile and create a signature with your Clickbank hoplink. You can do that later after you have done some comment posting and see how other marketers use their links in their signatures.

Then you should browse the topics where you can provide useful tips and answers to the questions that people ask. If you have bought the product that you want to promote and you are happy with it, you should tell others about it’s benefits and how it helped you.

Consider this that it’s not enough to post a couple of comments and expect to earn thousands in commission. You should select several forums that interest you and keep visiting them and posting comments for at least a month. Try not to sell your product but help people. When you have posted hundreds of comments, people will treat you as an expert and the sales will start rolling in.

After you have spent some time posting comments to forums, you should notice that some topics and questions are asked again and again. If you already know how to help people, you should start writing articles and promote your affiliate links in them.

Affiliate marketing using article distribution

In order to get started you should visit some article directories, for example:

Find articles that deal with the topic of your product and read them. Notice the "Author Bio" section at the end of most articles? It’s the place where you’ll market your affiliate link too.

But before you can start marketing, you should write your article. It’s really easy. Don’t say that you cannot write. If you can post comments in forums, you can write articles!

Simply, think about helping people, about the problems they try to solve in forums.

Now take a sheet of paper and start writing. The articles don’t have to be long. Just describe the problem and how it should be solved.

Then register with some article directories, write your "Author Bio" section with your hoplink and submit your article.

For maximum results, try to write and submit at least one article per day for at least one month. If readers love your articles, they’ll visit your link and buy from you. Webmasters will publish your articles on their websites and newsletters. At the end of the month you should see some affiliate commission in your Clickbank account.

Pay-per-click search engine marketing

When you have received your first checks from Clickbank, you should consider promoting your product using pay-per-click search engines. However, notice that this method requires payment for each click and may be quite complicated for beginners.

Some PPC search engines may even give you a sign-up bonus of up to $200, so it’s worth doing a research online and signing up.

In order to increase your affiliate earnings, you should also consider learning how to mask your affiliate links and how to track which marketing methods provide the most revenue.

You should also try to join other affiliate networks and promote different products and services.

As you can see, you can start making money online quickly, even if you don’t have any money or website. Don’t give up too soon, find and read more information about affiliate marketing and your success is guaranteed!

The Internet is the most important information tool in the world today. It is a superhighway with literally tens of millions of people logged into it everyday. Indeed, the Internet has benefited mankind tremendously in the past couple of decades. It has made invaluable information and knowledge accessible to anyone anywhere.

With the Internet, the world has shrunk into just a click of the mouse. Everybody can communicate and reach out to anybody—cheaply. It was only a matter of time before entrepreneurs realize the full potential of the Internet in the world of business and money making. Prior to the Internet, a business needs physical or tangible merchandise to sell to consumers; but today, through affiliate programs, entities can make money out of websites in the Internet.

So you might ask what affiliate programs are and how do they work. Well, to fully appreciate the concept of affiliate programs, you have to think of it as some mutual relationship much like that of an Egyptian plover bird and a crocodile. The plover bird feeds on other organisms parasitic to the crocodile, while the crocodile provides intimidating protection against the bird’s predators.

Affiliate programs work the same way; it is basically a mutual cooperative venture between your website and another entity’s website that is already in the business of selling products and services over the Internet. In this venture, you direct your website visitors to your partner’s website; thereby, increasing the number of people becoming aware of your partner website’s products or services and effectively increasing the chances of people buying from your partner. As a reward, you are paid commissions. In short, you are performing as a marketing agent or referral arm for your partner website.

Affiliate programs are a great way to earn online. But conquering the world of affiliate programs needs patience and dedication. Finding the best affiliate program for you means knowing which affiliate program will give you more benefits and lesser disadvantages. Here are a few pointers to consider in finding the best affiliate program for you.

Research, Research, And More Research

If you pile up all the websites in the Internet offering affiliate programs, you might be able to construct the first stairway to the moon. And a chunk of these websites offer nothing but crap. It is therefore important to do a lot of researching about the affiliate programs you want to join. You can look for information over the Internet and by contacting other members of the affiliate program you are eyeing. It is always good to be a hundred percent sure than to be fooled by someone you have not even met.

Think Commissions

You are joining affiliate programs and agree to invest some of your time and efforts as a marketing agent of some online entrepreneur with the hope that you are to be paid with good commissions. Different affiliate programs widely vary in terms of the commissions they pay. Some programs pay higher commissions as an incentive for affiliates to work harder. There are also programs that do not pay well. Still, some other programs do not pay at all; so beware of cheating affiliate programs.

The Matter With Products Or Services

In the olden times of real world merchandising, every merchant or trader has a unique product or industry to sell. That was why they used to hate Jacks–of-all-trade. This philosophy also applies to online shops, and therefore the affiliate program you might wish to join.

An affiliate program website has a better chance of raking big money online—therefore, bigger commissions for you—if it offers a specialized product that targets a large population of potential users. So look for affiliate programs that sell a few specialized quality products, instead of a program that offers everything under the sun.

A Word About Experience

Experience is an invaluable gauge for a particular affiliate program’s performance and reputation. Make sure in your research that the affiliate program you intend to join is experienced in handling its business with its customers and its affiliates. More often than not, an experienced affiliate program provider is aware of current trends and what system should work or not.

An experienced program is an assurance in itself that it will not cheat its affiliates. An affiliate program is not like multi-level marketing where being first is always the best position; quite the contrary, long existing affiliate programs which you join very late in the game may prove to be your best choice.
